Import of Excel files
Dear Sirs, I'm writing you about one problem relative to the excel import. We received, by our process licensor, a lot of  d/s in excel file for control and safety valve. Due to the fact that are more of 1000 tags, we would like to import in SPI though the import module. Which is your idea? Is it possible? If yes which are the steps that I have to do in order to import easy those data? If you want I can send you the template, in excel file, to analyze my problem....

Re: Import of Excel files

Dear Andrea,

The Import process is very complicated and you need experience to do It.

You need to find an expert  to create for you the links between the columns in the excel file and INtools columns.

You can use the ERD document from INtools documentation to learn about the structure of the database.

To prepare links is not part of routine support , it’s a service and needs the database and

the Excel files reviewed .

Re: Import of Excel files
I have a question about importing.  I am importing a line list from excel using the import utility.  I am using the import line module.  The link is working coreectly for all lines above 1".  I am using ANSI lines and feeding all the keys.  The 3/4" lines are not picking up the pipe data.  Any suggestions?

Re: Import of Excel files

First view the source from import to make sure this line is out of the import area

If you can see the row for this line make sure you don't have already the same line num and the flag "update" in the importrt preferences uncheck .

If it's not the case send me the excel file and the log from the import.
