Oracle Character Set

Hi,

I have a .DB of INTools version 05.03.09.03. As per the compatibility chart, Oracle 9i can be used as backend of INTools version 05.03.09.03. I tried to connect to the Oracle 9i database through DB setup Utility. But It shows the error like " Invalid Character Set ".

Can anybody give guidence on this issue?

Kedar

Re: Oracle Character Set

Hi,

Please try to use O84 in the DB setup.

If it will not work send me directly snapshots step by step with the error.

Re: Oracle Character Set

hi Again,

Please run regedit from command line and highlight

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIN\SOFTWARE\ORACLE

and right click with the mouse and save it as 1.reg

rename the file to 1.txt and send it to me.

Re: Oracle Character Set
Thanks Ilan,

I have created one database in Oracle 9i with following major steps.

1. Character set used : US7ASCII (Same set used in regedit) & National charcter set used: UTF8
2. Change the SYSTEM tablespace form Locally Mangaed mode to Dictinary Managed Mode
3. While running DB setup,
'Oracle version' : '8.1.5/8.1.6/8.1.7
'DBMS Paratmeter : O84,
and clear all the check boxes befor proceeing in 'Additional Darabase Parametrs" dialog box.

The DB Setup completed successfully. I have initialized a watcom database of version 05.03.09.03 succesfully, but while Opening any Module & Domain Admin it is giving error message " The version of your INTools database is older than your license. Run the Administration module and update your database".

I want to know whether it is possible to open INTools database of version 05.03.09.03 with Oracle 9i. If yes then what I missed.

Thanks

Kedar

Re: Oracle Character Set

Hi,

Please do the following:

1. Open the file from intools folder c_vet.ora with notepad .

2.copy the numbers from this file to c_ver.pbd (open it with notepad) and save this file.

3. Run admin module and upgrade the admin schema and after that the domain schema.

Regards
