Re: Changing of tag nos.

hi,

First of all I need to know the database platform(MSS or Oracle)

The command might change for each platform.

you should rename rename the tags, loop, device panels, device cables, tag signal and wire tag.

you should do it one by one.

Please connect to the domain schema and run the following query and send me the results as excel file:

select c.cmpnt_id,c.cmpnt_name,c.tag_trans_name,l.loop_id,l.loop_name,l.loop_trans_name from component c,loop l where c.loop_id = l.loop_id and c.cmpnt_name like '%-5000';

Send the results as excel file to admin@asbuilt-dba.com

regards

Re: Changing of tag nos.
Sir,

The database platform is oracle. Did you mean that I will rename them one by one.

Is there no any quick step to rename them?

Re: Changing of tag nos.

Hi,

If you want to renameit through the application you need to do it one by one.

it's no other way to do it through the application

If you like to save time and use my help send me the excel file after you run the query that I gave you and I will genate for you commands to raname the tags and other referance data.

be aware that it might be long proces with a lot of commands and query.

Most of the time I charge for this service but for you I will do it for free.

Regards

Re: Changing of tag nos.

Hi,

IF your database type is in Operating Owner mode (with As-Built and Project functionaility) then you need to also check some scope tables which may have been affected to include new rows of records due to the claiming. Otherwise I agree with Ilan, the only way to do this is via UPDATE sql statement.
